Donna J. Hecht is a graduate of Spring Arbor College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and joined Condon, Hecht, Bisher, Wade & Co., P.C. in 1995. She became a principal of the firm in 2005 and currently serves as Treasurer and Firm Administrator.

Donna serves a wide variety of clients including local units of government and school districts, not-for-profit organizations, physicians, retailers and manufacturers. She is responsible for managing audits, review and compilation engagements, and supervising staff. Donna prepares corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns. She specializes in the preparation of estate, trust and gift tax returns, and provides trustee services.

A member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, Donna maintains a minimum of forty hours annually of State and National CPA Society sponsored seminars in the areas of governmental accounting and auditing, income taxation of estates and trusts, and corporate and individual income taxation. She maintains a minimum of 80 hours of continuing professional education bi-annually, specific to governmental auditing, as required to supervise governmental audits.

Donna is a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Hillsdale County Republican Women’s Club, and the Hillsdale County Chamber of Commerce. She is active in the Hillsdale Exchange Club and currently serves as its treasurer.

Stephen W. Bisher is a 1994 graduate of Spring Arbor College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting.  He began his public accounting career in 1994 with Rehmann Robson & Co., CPAs, a regional firm in Southern Michigan, as a governmental auditor.  In December 1996 he joined the staff of Condon, Hecht, Bisher, Wade & Co., P.C.  Steve became a principal of the firm in 2005 and currently serves as President and Secretary.

Steve is a past member and treasurer of Hillsdale Kiwanis and past treasurer of Alpha Omega Women's Care Center. He is currently a member of Cambria Baptist Church.

Jason M. Wade, CPA, Principal

Jason M. Wade is a graduate of Hillsdale College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, emphasizing accounting, and a graduate of Spring Arbor University with an Masters in Business Administration. Upon graduation from Hillsdale College in 2003, he joined Condon, Hecht, Bisher, Wade & Company, P.C.  Jason became a principal in 2012 and currently serves as Vice President.

Jason presently manages audit engagements for cities, townships, school districts, and not-for-profit organizations. He also manages audits of construction companies. In addition to auditing, Jason is involved in the compilation and review areas of manufacturing, agribusiness, construction contractors, and not-for-profit organizations. Jason also assists with the preparation of individual, corporate, and not-for-profit tax returns.

Within the not-for-profit field, Jason specializes in serving community foundations in numerous ways: auditor, board member, controller, consultant, bookkeeper, etc.

Jason is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. Jason maintains a minimum of forty hours annually of State and National CPA Society sponsored seminars in governmental accounting and auditing, not-for-profit organizations, and corporate and individual income taxation. He also maintains a minimum of 24 hours of continuing professional education bi-annually, specific to governmental auditing.

Jason currently serves as Treasurer of the First Baptist Church of North Adams, where he has been a member since 1984. He is a past treasurer of Hospice of Hillsdale, and also serves as a director on the Hillsdale County Community Foundation Board.

Kathleen A. Schmitt is a 1984 graduate of the Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Michigan. After three years with a Big Four firm in Battle Creek and Chicago, Kathy joined Condon, Hecht, Bisher, Wade & Company, P.C. in 1987.

Kathy is responsible for planning, executing and supervising audits for cities, townships, school districts, not-for-profit organizations and small businesses. She has also assisted on audit engagements of small, mid-sized and Fortune 500 companies, and has extensive experience in the review and compilation areas of agribusiness, manufacturing and retail business, and corporate and individual tax preparation.

Kathy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and maintains a minimum of forty hours annually of State and National Society-sponsored seminars in corporate and individual taxation, GASB, FASB and SAS updates.

Kathy serves on the Jonesville Community Schools’ Board of Education, on the Hillsdale County 4-H Council and is a 4-H leader. She is the past treasurer of both the Alpha Omega Women’s Care Center and the Jonesville PTA.

Laura R. Nevins is a graduate of Baker College with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree emphasizing accounting and a graduate of Spring Arbor University with a Master of Business Administration. Laura joined Condon, Hecht, Bisher, Wade & Co., P.C. in June of 2015 and is currently working toward licensure.

Laura has extensive experience with payroll services and business advisory services, in addition to compilations and reviews of various industries. Laura assists in the preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns. Laura is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and specializes in assisting businesses with all types of accounting software-related issues.

Laura is applying for membership with the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Laura maintains a minimum of forty hours annually of State and National CPA Society sponsored seminars in accounting, tax and others relating to the various types of industries and services provided.

Laura currently serves as the Treasurer for the Grosvenor House Museum.

Anna R. Skelly is a recent graduate with honors from Baker College with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in accounting. Anna joined Condon, Hecht, Bisher, Wade & Co., P.C. in June of 2016 and is currently working toward licensure.

Anna currently assists in audit engagements for cities, townships, school districts, and not-for-profit organizations. In addition to auditing, Anna is involved in compilations and reviews of various industries. Anna also assists in the preparation of individual, corporate, and not-for-profit tax returns.

Anna is applying for membership with the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.
